Cobalt Industries is a specialized government contractor manufacturing critical HT (High Tension) electrical components—from Earthing Pipes and Guarding Channels to 33 KV Cut Point hardware.
The goal was to move away from a "generic industrial" look and create a brand identity that mirrored the durability of their products: items like Bracing Angles and Fish Plates that literally hold infrastructure together. They needed a logo that signaled safety, precision, and heavy-duty resilience.
THE CREATIVE PROCESS: FORGING THE LOGO
When designing the logo, we focused on three core pillars:
1. Materiality: Inspired by the raw strength of galvanized steel and the atomic properties of the element Cobalt.
2. Structural Geometry: We pulled shapes from the product line itself—the sharp angles of the Bracing Angles and the solid profile of the Top Channels.
3. Color Palette: We chose a "Industrial Navy & Slate" palette to evoke trust and the "HD" (Heavy Duty) nature of their Hot-Dip galvanized products.
We explored how to represent "The Connection." In the world of HT Earthing and Stay Clamps, everything is about secure attachment. > The resulting mark is a bold, interlocking monogram that suggests both the 'C' for Cobalt and the physical interlocking of a Back Clamp or Fish Plate.
We didn't just stop at the logo. We redesigned how their technical product list is presented, ensuring that even technical items like Danger Board Clamps and Barbed Wire felt like part of a cohesive, professional ecosystem.
THE IMPACT
The new branding positions Cobalt Industries not just as a vendor, but as a premier engineering partner. It gives government procurement officers and private contractors immediate confidence in the quality of the "HD" (Hot-Dip) finishing and the structural integrity of every piece of steel that leaves their floor.
